HiCan someone advise, I have a 2009 Jaguar X Type 2.2 Diesel I have full Jaguar service history and recently had a A service carried out. Turning on the engine today the driver information system says service due in 2000 mile, travelling a further two mile advised me that service is needed in 1950 mile.
Itfinally settled down to 9.6degC at 3:00 in the afternoon. I then put the message centre into diagnostic test mode and that read the temperature as 3.5degC. So the two results didn't agree. I then unplugged the sensor and replaced it with a 1.5 K-Ohm resistor and looked at the reading on the message centre.
PostedApril 17, 2015. Hi Alan, I think you should back to the dealer who fitted the EGR valve and tell him to fix it properly. I sometimes have problems with the EGR valves [two on the S type] and I use one of two options to clean it up. The first is a good blast down the A38, and the second is a canister of Wynns Diesel EGR clean for around £9.
