The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X is the tenth and final generation of the Lancer Evolution, a sports sedan produced by Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi Motors . By September 2005, Mitsubishi introduced a concept version of the next-gen Evolution at the 39th Tokyo Motor Show named the Concept-X, [1] designed by Omer Halilhodžić at the company
The lancer evolutions (and this last generation ralliarts) are for modding. The other base lancers (ES, GTS/GT, DE, etc.) is not, they’re just regular economy cars. Correct, if you want to add power and typical “tuner” things, you’ll need an evo or at least this last generation ralliart model.
Eventually, the 4G33 turbo, as well as the VR-4’s four-wheel-drive made its way to the first Lancer Evo with little to no changes. That said, many car enthusiasts and fans of the Mitsubishi rally-team called the Galant VR-4 the “father” of the Lancer Evo. Moreover, the sixth-gen Galant was the first to introduce the VR-4 versions.
But the Lancer Evo Tommi Makinen isn’t just about looks. It rides lower than the ‘standard’ Evo VI, and features a quicker steering ratio and an extra strut-tower brace, Hagerty reports. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine makes the same 276 hp and 275 lb-ft as the standard car, R&T reports.
Evo X MAF, induction tube, Upper IC pipe, lower IC pipe, FMIC are all larger then the RA. They also all bolt right onto the RA except for the induction tube if you still have the stock RA turbo. The only thing that is the same size is the rubber tubing off the throttle body to the lower IC. Bryan.
I would def choose the higher compression on E85. If any of you have heard of k20/24's in the Honda world, they come stock with 11:1 compression ratios. These motors stock are tough and love boost. Lots are making mid 400s on pump 93 and mid 500's on E85. If your tuner is good then there should be no problems.
