Also something else to try is from your Windows Documents folder, find the "GTA Vice City User Files" folder, and in that folder rename or remove the gta_vc.set file you find there. *Note: If you're able to at least get to the main menu in-game, from your display option, be sure the "Frame Limiter" is set to "On".

I have GTA VC for PC Steam version and everytime I try to save it says "Save Failed". So I dont play past the first part because I cant continue it. I tried everything but nothing works. -Yes I tried reinstalling it, same thing happens. -Yes I tried running it in compatibility mode in Win XP, Vista, etc. -Yes Im running it as administrator.
Set the gta-vc.exe to Windows 7 compatibility mode in properties, open the game, after that set the resolution to your normal one. Then you can disable compatibility mode again if you don't want to have it enabled.

Go to the exe directory (program files (x86) / Steam / Steamapps / common / grandtheftauto vice city) Right click on gta-vc and go to properties. Go to compatibility and set compatibility to Windows XP (service pack 3) Also set privilege level to "run the program as administrator".
